Carburetor CFM Calculator

If you want to determine the size of the carburetor that your engine required, then this Carburetor CFM Calculator is a tool that you can use.

A mechanical device in which fuel and air are mixed for internal combustion engines makes a suitable air-fuel ratio for combustion known as the carburetor. Moreover, the carburetor, also spelled as carburetor, is used to provide the spark-ignition engine that includes a variety of both fuel and air. Choke, liquid fuel, venturi-shaped air-flow restriction, and accelerator pump are included in the storage chamber of components of the carburetor.

Formula of Carburetor CFM Calculator

If you want to determine the size of a carburetor, you can use our calculator, or to find it manually, you can use the formula listed below:

Carburetor size = Engine size * Max rpm * Efficiency / 3456

Where,

Engine size (CID) = size of the vehicle's engine, measured in inches.

Max rpm = maximum revolutions per minute.

Engine efficiency = efficiency of an engine; however, the standard stock engine has approximately 80% efficiency.

Note:

To calculate belt length, you can use our Belt Length Calculator.

Example

For more prices understanding of the above concept, let us have an example below:

Suppose a bike has an engine of 340 cubic inches with a maximum number of revolutions per minute of 5,600, whereas the working efficiency of an engine is 80%. Find out the carburetor size using the above-given data.

Given data

Size = 340 cubic inches
Maximum number of revolutions per minute = 5,600 max rpm
Engine efficiency = 80% = 0.80

To Find

Carburetor size =?

Solution

To find the carburetor size, you can use the formula listed below:

Carburetor size = Engine size * Max rpm * Efficiency / 3456

Putting values in the formula:

Carburetor size = 340 x 5600 x 0.80 / 3456 = 440.74 CFM

How to use the Carburetor CFM Calculator?

The steps to use the carburetor CFM calculator are as follows:

Step 1: Enter the engine size in the first required input.

Step 2: Enter the max rpm in the second required input.

Step 3: Enter the engine efficiency in the third required input

Step 4: The calculator will automatically display an answer on the screen.
