Force Calculator

Newton's second law of motion states that acceleration is directly proportional to the applied force acting on in the same direction and inversely proportional to its mass.

A push or pull applied on an object or body with mass that causes the body to change its velocity is known as force.

Formula of Force Calculator

To determine force instantly, you can use our force calculator, or to find it manually, you can use the formula listed below:

A = F/m
F = ma

Note:

Find the universal gravitational force with our Gravitational Force Calculator.

Example

Find the force required to accelerate an object with a mass of 50 kg from stationary to 5 m/s2.

Given data

m = 50 kg
a = 5 m/s2

To Find

F = ?

Solution

We will get force using the formula listed above.

F = ma

Putting the values, in the above equation we have

F = (50)(5)
F = 250 kg m/s2

Newton is a derived unit that is equal to 1 kg-m/s² or we can say that a single Newton is equal to the force needed to accelerate 1 kilogram on 1 meter per second square.

1 kg m/s2 = 1 N

So,

F = 250 N

How to use the Force Calculator?

The steps to use the force calculator are as follows:

Step 1: Enter the value of mass in the first required input.

Step 2: Enter the value of acceleration in the second required input.

Step 3: The calculator will automatically display an answer on the screen.

Calculator use

You can find the value of force by using our force calculator. As F has two constant values mass (weight and acceleration). You can find the force by using the formula given. You have to put values in the correct input field and you get the answer. You can also change the unit of each variable(force, mass, acceleration).
